The investigation is ongoing, but the 30-year-old Husham Hussain was killed in the accident that occurred at N. Wilke and Rand roads Wednesday night.
UPDATED: Thursday, May 23, 1:25 p.m. Below is a press release issued by the Palatine Police Department: On May 22, 2013 at 8:27 PM, Palatine Police responded to a call of a single vehicle motorcycle accident where the driver lost control of his motorcycle traveling Northbound on Wilke/Frontage Road, approximately 75 feet south of Rand Road. There were no witnesses to the accident, but preliminary evidence at the scene indicated the motorcycle failed to negotiate a right turn and skidded into a fence. If convicted, the man could face between two to five years in prison, according to the Daily Herald.
A $10,000 bail was set Monday for a supervisor at the TCF Bank in Arlington Heights who is charged with misappropriating property, according to the Daily Herald. Jovanny D. Sosa, 21, of Hanover Park is accused of opening four fraudulent savings and checkings acounts at TCF and then "electronically depositing $2,000 into each account," according to the Daily Herald. Palatine Police say two suspects entered the store at 784 E. Dundee Road on Saturday, and one suspect pulled a gun. Taken was U.S. currency, phones, tablets and iPads. Suspect descriptions are provided.
Palatine Police are searching for two suspects they believe are responsible for an armed robbery over the weekend where a gun was pulled on empolyees and customers at the Verizon Wireless Store, 784 E. Dundee Road. The robbery took place on Saturday, May 18 at approximately 6:15 p.m., according to a press release from the Palatine Police Department. A 9-1-1 call was placed by an employee, but when officers arrived, the two suspects had already fled the store. Employees told police the two suspects entered the store asking about phones, but then the first suspect pulled out a gun and ordered three employees and four customers to get to the ground, the release stated. The blaze was reported at 8:21 p.m. Friday with heavy fire on the first floor extending to the second floor; three units were ultimately deemed uninhabitable after multiple fire agencies helped to extinguish it.
Palatine firefighters responded to a blaze at the Lake Louise Condominiums, 516 N. Wilke Rd. Friday night, and four of its residents were unable to go back to their units after it was extinguished. No injuries to civilians or firefighters were sustained. The call came in at 8:21 p.m., and by 8:27 p.m., Palatine firefighters were on the scene where heavy fire had been reported on the first floor, and had extended to the second floor and into the attic above, according to a Palatine Fire Department press release. The release states firefighters had to access the roof with an aerial tower to cut a ventilation hole, to release heat, gas and smoke. UPDATED: Friday, May 17, 10:45 p.m. No injuries are being reported after a fire broke out at the Lake Louise Apartment, 516 N. Wilke Rd. on Friday night. Just after 8:30 p.m. the Palatine Fire Department called a box alarm to receive aid from neighboring departments, after fire was reported to be heavy at the front door of the building, according to the Arlington Cardinal. A 19-year-old Willow Creek Community Church volunteer has been charged with molesting an 8-year-old boy, the Daily Herald reports. Officials say Robert Sobczak of Hoffman Estates was volunteering in a care center for special-needs children when the molestation occurred. If convicted, he could face three to seven years in prison, the newspaper reports.

On Tuesday, the National Transportation Safety Board recommended states lower the blood-alcohol threshold for driving under the influence from .08 to .05 percent. About 10,000 deaths a year are related to drunken driving. The NTSB says the lower limit would save 500 to 800 lives a year. Officials at the American Beverage Institute called the proposal "ludicrous." It said the average woman could reach the 0.05 percent limit by having one drink.
