Hispanic Heritage Focus of November B-PAC Meeting

Community Consolidated School District 15's Bilingual parent Advisory Committee's (B-PAC) November 17 meeting will feature a presentation on "Our Roots and Hispanic Heritage."

The second of four Bilingual Parent Advisory Committee (B-PAC) meetings scheduled for this year will be held Thursday, November 17, from 6:30–8 p.m. at Winston Campus Junior High, 900 E. Palatine Road, Palatine.

All Hispanic families in Community Consolidated School District 15 are invited to attend this meeting, which will feature a presentation on “Our Roots and Hispanic Heritage” by Valentin Araya of the Archdiocese of Chicago’s Office of Family Ministries.

Refreshments will be served, and raffle prizes will be drawn. Supervision will be provided for children age 3 and older, and transportation to this meeting will be offered from the following locations:

  • Edgebrook Community Center (also known as la escuelita in Green Lane apartments), 1926 Green Lane North, Palatine
  • Police Neighborhood Resource Center, 2272 Algonquin Parkway, Rolling Meadows
  • Palatine Opportunity Center, 1585 N. Rand Road, Palatine

Buses will load at 6 p.m., leave promptly at 6:15 p.m., and return at 8:15 p.m.

B-PAC participates in the planning, operation, and evaluation of Community Consolidated School District 15’s Spanish bilingual programs and targets parents with children in those programs. In addition, important topics relating to education, the District, and the community are shared. Interested staff and community members are also encouraged to attend.
