District 15 to screen Race to Nowhere on May 26

Community Consolidated School District 15 is sponsoring a screening of the 2009 documentary Race to Nowhere on Thursday, May 26, at 7 p.m. in the theater at Walter R. Sundling Junior High, 1100 N. Smith Street, Palatine.

The film features the heartbreaking stories of young people across the country who have been pushed to the brink, educators who are burned out and worried that students aren’t developing the skills they need, and parents who are trying to do what’s best for their kids. It has been hailed as a call to action for families, educators, and policymakers to challenge current assumptions on how to best prepare the youth of America to become healthy, bright, contributing, and leading citizens.

Tickets to the District’s screening of Race to Nowhere cost $10 (plus a processing fee of $1.54 per ticket) if purchased in advance of the show, or $15 at the door. A limited number of seats are available.
