Help Save Didier Farms!

Reach out and let the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers know how you feel about the possible elimination of Didier Farms to make way for a flood mitigation area.

A flood mitigation plan is threatening the existence of Didier Farms, proposed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

Didier Farms is a very special place in Lake County where memories are made on an annual basis for hundreds - if not thousands- of families around our area and beyond.

I know my son has had some wonderful times there, every fall since he was old enough leading up to Halloween. I remember when he was two, he was so excited about the pumpkins, which he pronounced 'putkins'. I still laugh when I remember that day; sweet memories. I hope other Moms, and yet-to-be Moms can still be allowed those in the coming years....

In addition to the sense of community it has given to many of us-it supports three families-the Didiers. Where is the sense of history, and the thought of keeping some things just the way they have been [for the last 100 years]?

It would be a complete shame to raze this beautiful destination, as well as a livelihood for the Didier family.

Let this little bit of history that is left in our area, live on for us and future generations of both our families, and the Didiers.

Sincerely,
Melanie Santostefano
Palatine resident
