How Safe is my Home WiFi

Most people today that use the internet do so wirelessly. Having a wireless internet connection is great. You can change rooms and even go outside. But how secure is your home WiFi. The same perils from public WiFi can affect you at home if your not secured.

With the ever increasing market of wireless devices such as televisions, tablets, gaming systems, backup storage devices and even cameras, you could be exposing more than just your computer to a crafty hacker.

I am often surprised by clients when I ask them about their WiFi security and they either don't know what I am talking about, or they tell me they don't have a password protected connection.

Just imagine someone hacking that trusty backup drive attached to your wireless router or that great new wireless camera system you installed to watch the house while you were gone.( The majority of laptops, tablets and cell phones have cameras that can be accessed wirelessly). Or how about that neighbor that's downloading illegal files using your network, have fun explaining that to the police.

I cannot stress enough the importance of properly securing your wireless router. There are several guides available online so to keep things short I have attached a link to one source that will put you on the right track.(Click Here) If you are unsure of what to do or don't have the time you could contact a professional like those at Vicarious Productions and have them help you secure your WiFi.
