Palatine High School Tops Libertyville Football Friday Night

The Palatine Pirates start off the football season on a solid foot away at Libertyville High School Friday.

In their season opener at home - despite storms that rolled through the area which postponed the sophomore game - the varsity Palatine Pirates football team topped the Libertyville Wildcats 25-7 Friday night, the Chicago Tribune reports.

Due to the severe weather, power was knocked out Libertvyille High School, in addition to the parking lot, the paper reported. But, due to the football stadium being on a separate power grid, the game went on despite an hour rain delay.

The Chicago Tribune has more on the game
