As part of Quest Academy’s After School Program, faculty members Mr. and Mrs. Jurewicz offered a class called Art in the Park. The goal was to blend culture and nature by creating temporary artwork to display on the new outdoor West Campus. Students were asked to think big and stretch their imaginations. They used PVC pipe for framework, Tyvek for an oversized canvas, and acrylic paint to bring their ideas to life.
The 12 students in the class brainstormed ideas and voted on a theme, the winner was “Water”. They broke up into groups, did research, then began drawing and designing their panels. On Monday, November 26, the murals were
unveiled to the community. They are beautiful depictions of water – coral reef, sunset over the ocean, mangrove
swamp, waterfall, island beach.
The artwork will be display until winter break.
