Fremd High School graduate, Robert Lorenz makes his directorial debut with the feature film, “Trouble With the Curve,” the Daily Herald reports. A drama, the first movie directed by Lorenz that stars Clint Eastwood and Amy Adams opens Friday.

The former Viking and Palatine native, Lorenz is now the executive of Malpaso, Eastwood’s production company. As the Hollywood legend’s right-hand man, Eastwood passed the reins to Lorenz to direct “Trouble With the Curve.” According to the Internet Movie Database (IMDb), this is the first film Clint Eastwood has starred in that he has not directed himself in nearly 20 years.

On a recent trip to Chicago, Lorenz sat down for an interview with the Daily Herald. Lorenz talks about growing up in Palatine, his climb to the top, life in Hollywood and his boss, Clint Eastwood. Check out the full interview here.
