Eight District 211 Students Win National Writing Awards

Eight District 211 students won the national "Achievement Award in Writing."

Eight Township High School District 211 students earned the "Achievement Award in Writing."

The National Council of Teachers of English estblished the award to enourage high school students to write and to publicly honor the nation's best student writers.

This is the most prestigious national writers’ recognition for high school juniors. With only 38 students from Illinois selected to receive this award in 2011-2012,
High School District 211 is proud to announce that it had eight of those students: Abhiya Ahmed, Nicolette Bartolameolli, and Ryan Erdmann from Palatine High School; Margarita Calangi and Joshua MacNeal-Young from Schaumburg High School; Emily Prescott and Rebecca Wight from William Fremd High School; and Connie Liou from James B. Conant High School.

These students were honored for their outstanding achievement by the District 211 Board of Education at its Nov. 10, 2011 meeting.
