District 211 Foundation to Host Inaugural D211 Fun(d) 5K Run/Walk Race

District 211 Foundation will host its Inaugural D211 Fun(d) 5K Run/Walk Race. The race will take place on Sept. 15 at Palatine High School starting at 8 a.m.

Students, staff, parents, and community members can start preparing for a race that will support District 211 programs and schools.

The District 211 Foundation will host its Inaugural D211 Fun(d) 5K Run/Walk Race. The race will take place on Sept. 15 at Palatine High School starting at 8 a.m. Registration is open and individuals can sign up online until Sept. 11. The pre-race fee is $25 and the race day registration is $30.

“The race is a good way to for the community to get involved, and it’s a great way to meet people and support the schools,” said Michael Osten, D211 Foundation trustee and member of the race committee.

All proceeds will benefit the Township High School District 211 Foundation, which provides resources to enhance and enrich learning opportunities for the students, staff, and the school community.

Race participants will receive a goodie bag with a free t-shirt, as well as attend a post-race party with an awards ceremony and food. There will be awards for the top finishers and age group categories. The post-race party will be sponsored by Mariano’s Fresh Market, and other race sponsors include BMO Harris Bank, Dick Pond Athletics, and OPTO International, Inc.

“We hope to see a great, lively crowd that is anticipating a fun, fast run and everyone having a great time,” Osten said.
