"Anything Goes" at Cutting Hall Wows 'em First Weekend

Fremont Street Theater Company's premiere production of "Anything Goes" returns to Cutting Hall this weekend for its final three performances. Don't miss this terrific show!

Fremont Street Theater Company's premiere production of "Anything Goes" opened to an enthusiastic crowd last Friday night and had great performances again on Saturday night and at the Sunday matinee. The audiences howled in approval of this toe-tapping musical and left them begging for more. The show will return to Cutting Hall Performing Arts Center for its final weekend this Friday and Saturday night at 7:30 and again on Sunday at 3:00 pm. Don't miss this chance to have a great musical theater experience right here in Palatine at reasonable ticket prices. The show was reviewed by Joe Stead of steadystylechicago.com who said:

“By most community theatre standards, Fremont Street's maiden voyage is a real class act, and it is evident that producers Sandy and Colleen Sandquist have spared nothing to come up with a lively and frothy old-fashioned entertainment.  They were savvy enough to hire Choreographer Dina DiCostanzo to put the large cast through their taps and twirls, and Director Madeline Franklin to ensure that the whole thing moves smoothly and vigorously... most of the big numbers are terrific, and DiCostanzo's frothy choreography is a genuine highlight.  Costume designers Patty Halajian and Jean Rebeka have really outdone themselves with a glittering couture that would be all the rage of the 1930's.  McMullen's swinging band really cooks, so much so it feels a genuine letdown whenever they are not playing.  Kevin Goss and Amy Orman are the epitome of the classic romantic "boy meets girl" couple.  The handsome Goss has a big toothy grin that will knock your socks off, and the lovely Orman has a voice of bell toned clarity that is a treat to the ear...Drew Leigh Williams is a stalwart Reno Sweeney, nightclub evangelist and diva extraordinaire...her belt range is powerful and she kicks up her heels in true triple-threat style.”
