Starbucks Plans Head To Palatine Zoning Board Tuesday

A Starbucks is being proposed for the 200 block of Northwest Highway in Palatine.

Plans for a between and will go before Palatine's Zoning Board of Appeals Tuesday, Oct. 11.

If approved an 8,000-square foot commercial building would be constructed in the 200 block of W. Northwest Highway. Also occupying space would be Charley's Grilled Subs. There is room for a third tenant as well.

The meeting will be at 7 p.m. at Village Hall, 200 E. Wood St.

Palatine Director of Planning and Zoning Ben Vyverberg said the board review was triggered because the project involves a restaurant – which is considered a special use – and a proposed drive-through for the Starbucks.

The Northwest Highway Starbucks would be the fourth in Palatine. There already is a located in the Metra Station near Smith and Wood Street. There is a at 1590 N. Rand Rd. And there is a Starbucks at 679 E. Dundee Rd. inside .

The new Starbucks would be located close to , 189 W. Northwest Highway.
