Paul Ryan is Mitt Romney's Pick For Vice President

Romney touts the Ryan's Wisconsin values; says he is an "intellectual leader of the Republican Party."

Written by Jeff Rumage

Mitt Romney announced Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Janesville) as his vice  presidential running mate Saturday morning.

Ryan, 42, has served in the House of Representatives for 14 years, currently chairing the House Budget Committee and serving on the House Ways and Means Committee. In January 2010, Ryan gained attention nationwide after unveiling his "Roadmap for America’s Future."

Romney formally made his VP announcement on a tour of the U.S.S. Wisconsin in Norfolk, VA. In the announcement, Romney said Ryan is an "intellectual leader of the Republican Party."

Romney also said Paul understands that people can have honest disagreements without making personal attacks.

"There are a lot of people in the other party ," Romney said.

Lets take a closer look at what is happening today, since we currently have record unemployment, record foreclsoures, credit downgrade, massive unprecedented 4 years of greater than 1 trillion in budgets. Racism charges agianst those who want something better are better suited towards those who want 4 more years of this, as blacks are the hardest hit.
Richard Schulte August 24, 2012 at 09:42 pm
Sully, I can't help but wonder how you know so much about the Klan. I noticed that you didn't take me up on the free movie tickets and I know how much Democrats like free stuff. Do you have some sort of meeting tonight that you're too busy to go see a movie for free? Well be careful you don't burn yourself at your meeting tonight.

"Texas has been a strong scene of Empire Knights activity. In early August 2006, members of the Empire Knights of Texas, based in San Angelo, held a heavily publicized anti-immigration rally in the northwest Texas city of Amarillo. It was only one of several recent Empire Knights events in Texas. In June 2006, over 20 Empire Knights held an anti-immigration rally in the west Texas city of Midland, while in November 2005, they held a protest against gay marriage in Austin. The Empire Knights also held an event in July 2006 in Leesville, South Carolina."

At that time republicans led the charge for reconstruction, so the republicans of that time were the target of the klan. After civil rights passed, and after there was a flip flop of the parties, the klan became a part of the right wing movement, thus being at opposition of the democratic party. more...

The African-American unemployment rate stands at an outrageous 16.2 percent.
Sully August 24, 2012 at 09:57 pm
So, the KKK's current position is anti-gay, anti-immigrant, and pro-Christian fundamentalism, along with the same old anti-black, anti-semetic leanings of old.
Which party today has more in common with the current KKK?
McCloud August 24, 2012 at 09:58 pm
It's obvious Sully is completely lost in the aftermath of an Obama victory in 2008. There are 12 steps you can take to detox, maybe I can be the Bill in this matter,
Richard Schulte August 24, 2012 at 09:59 pm
McCloud you keep mentioning "record unemployment, record foreclosures, credit downgrade, massive unprecedented 4 years of greate than 1 trillion in budgets". Can't you come up with something new? According to Sully, you're only allowed to mention a fact once. After that, it's just old news.
Sully August 24, 2012 at 10:06 pm
Richard, it's called education. And I'll remind you again since you "discovered" it- I'm the one percent. I don't need you to pay anything for me. You hold on to what little cash you have. You need it more than I.
Mac- did you miss the point of my posts? We were talking specifically about the KKK, not the economics of today. Okay, enough of this. Back as you were soldier(s).
Richard Schulte August 24, 2012 at 10:14 pm
Sully's post on the KKK is quite interesting. He claims that the KKK was formed by Southerners, but forgets to mention the connection between the KKK and the Democrat Party. Yes, the KKK was the terrorist arm of the Democrat Party.
Sully also apparently has forgotten that Jim Crow laws were developed by the Democrats and segregation both in the North and the South was practiced by Democrats. You might recall that in 1948, Strom Thurmond headed the Dixiecrat Party ticket in the presidential election-Thurmond was a Democrat segregationist . In 1972, George Wallace, Democrat Governor of Alabama, ran as a 3rd party candidate for president. Wallace was a segregationist. Sully would like to have you believe that the Democrat and Republican Parties have switched positions with regard to civil rights. Let's take a look at the practice of segregation by Democrats today. The City of Chicago, governed by Democrats for more than 50 years, is one of the most segregated cities in America. Most large cities in America with large minority populations have Democrat mayors and majority city councils. Every large city governed by Democrat majorities have a poor public school system. Democrats have simply changed tactics from overt segregation to covert racial discrimination. Today, cities governed by Republican majorities, such as Houston, Dallas and Phoenix have far better school system than cities governed by Democrats. Sully and DWS simply can't tell the truth.
Richard Schulte August 24, 2012 at 10:24 pm
McCloud posted a video of an interview of Debbie Wasserman-Schultz (DWS) by Anderson Cooper on CNN above. You see Cooper repeatedly ask DWS the same question and DWS respond with denials which are obviously false. The falsehoods (lies) be peddled by DWS are so obvioius that Cooper/CNN simply cannot cover for them. (I sure am glad that DWS is on their side.)
Apparently, Democrats have a problem with the truth. (I guess it's the "ends justify the means".) Sully's post about the Klu Klux Klan is no different. He attempts to deny the discriminatory racial policies practiced by Democrats in large cities controlled by Democrats. Democrats use the poor educational systems in large cities to keep minorities on the Democrat plantation. Properly educated citizens become Republicans. So you could say that the Democrat Party is the party of the under-educated. Without under-educated voters, the Democrat Party would cease to exist.
Conrad August 24, 2012 at 10:36 pm
Mr Schulte, where did you see an attempt to "deny the discriminatory racial policies practiced by Democrats in large cities controlled by democrats" anywhere in Sully's post? You don't just twist the truth, you make your own truths up.
Richard Schulte August 24, 2012 at 10:52 pm
Conrad: "Mr Schulte, where did you see an attempt to "deny the discriminatory racial policies practiced by Democrats in large cities controlled by democrats" anywhere in Sully's post?"
Conrad, with all due respect, you are dumber than a box of rocks. You can't be a Republican, because no Republican could be that dumb. Enjoy reading Sully's and Schulte's posts over the last 13 months. http://evanston.patch.com/users/richard-schulte/comments http://evanston.patch.com/users/sully-6/comments This guy Conrad thinks he's the smartest person in any room that he's in. The next time you walk into an on-going discussion which has lasted over 13 months, try listening for a while before you make stupid comments. And when you're finished reading Sully's and Schulte's thousands of comments, you can go to Rush Limbaugh website and learn a little something else. http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/ The American Thinker website is also very good. http://www.americanthinker.com/ Don't spend all night reading my posts on Patch. Spend a little time this evening going to Dinesh D'Souza's "2016" movie.
RB August 24, 2012 at 11:23 pm
Rich, you're asking us to watch that movie, so I'll ask you to take a look at addictinginfo.org. Since I doubt you will, here are the headlines.1) Agreement from Right and Left that Paul Ryan lives in fantasy world 2) al Queda organizes hit on Navy Seal outed by Fox News 3) Faux news trashes Sandra Fluke again 4) For Paul Ryan rape and incest are just a means of conception 4) Rush Limbaugh implies Empire State Building shooting was Obama's fault 5) Anti-gay Louisana activist Convicted of masturbating in public park. I could go on and on, but if you want some fair and balanced news about how the Republicans and blowing this election by being so stupid.....read it.
Richard Schulte August 25, 2012 at 12:11 am
Well here you go RB. You might be surprised what I read. I don't read Sully's links because Sully is so far left that he's in kook territory and he's extremely obnoxious. Sometimes you go overboard too, but, typically, you're OK. We call you code pink guy because we like you-we're just teasing you. You seem like an honest guy-there ain't an honest bone in Sully's body.
"Right-leaning columnist David Brooks and left-leaning columnist Paul Krugman have finally agreed on something. As it happens, they both wrote about the subject on the same day, which is this: Paul Ryan inhabits a fantasy world." http://www.addictinginfo.org/2012/08/24/agreement-from-the-right-and-the-left-paul-ryan-lives-in-a-fantasy-world/ But you need to understand that you folks on the left don't really understand. David Brooks is only "right-leaning" relative to Paul Krugman. David Brooks is no way considered to be a conservative, except perhaps in New York. I'll take a further look at this webiste tomorrow-too tired right now.

The right wing nut jobs
Sully August 25, 2012 at 12:54 am
So RB, I guess Richie-Boy doesn't realize then that I've posted several Addictinginfo links.
RB August 25, 2012 at 01:30 am
I looked at thinker website. No comment, pretty much what i expected, and I refuse to go to the Rush site. Kinda like keeping my record of meeting every President since Carter, except I refused to meet 43...just could not bring myself to do it. Met Mr. Obama, so streak begins again. Life goes on.
RB August 25, 2012 at 01:32 am
Go figure, I found it from your previous links. Typically, I don't post links. 538 has some good data this week.
Richard Schulte August 25, 2012 at 08:35 am
I'm proud of you Sully.
Richard Schulte August 25, 2012 at 08:48 am
"Krugman sees a problem with a politician taking his fiscal policies from fictional characters, from a make-believe setting in which ‘productive’ people are exalted at the expense of the common man. In his column, Krugman states that Rand “is deadly serious about cutting taxes on the rich and slashing aid to the poor, very much in line with Rand’s worship of the successful and contempt for ‘moochers’.” However, Ryan’s attitude isn’t simply about saving money and reducing the deficit. “He’s also, quite explicitly, trying to make life harder for the poor–for their own good.” Some of the fiscal policies he embraces from Rand would take the country back 200 years."
I have already addressed the problem with high taxes on the rich yesterday. Countries compete for capital and capital flows to countries with lower taxes. And that's why the left supports "world government"-so that capital can't flee to nations with lower capital. In other words, the objective is to take away choice (anti pro-choice). Essentially, it's similar to the gov't telling Wal-Mart that they have to close down because their prices are too low. Wal-Mart attracts shoppers because its prices are lower than it's competion. Lower tax rates attract capital because the cost of doing business in nations with lower tax rates is lower. It's so very obvious, but Paul Krugman doesn't get it because Krugman is a theorist. He doesn't live in the real world.

"It’s interesting that conservative columnist David Brooks adopted a similar theme in his column."
The NYT may call David Brooks a conservative, but he isn't a conservative. So the basis for the entire article is non-sensical. Oh well, the problem with the left is that don't understand who conservatives are or what conservatives think, nor do they care to learn. The source of the quote above is: http://www.addictinginfo.org/2012/08/24/agreement-from-the-right-and-the-left-paul-ryan-lives-in-a-fantasy-world/ Conservatives have a far better grasp on the thinking of the left because conservatives are immersed in liberalism. ABS, CBS and NBS are left-biased media outlets. The New York Times, the Washington Post and the LA Times are left-biased media outlets. Likewise, NPR and PBS are left-biased media outlets.

Sandra Fluke deserves to be trashed, her lunatic opinion about the right to receive free condoms is about as crazy as state level Democrats loading up the cost of health insurance premiums by perpetual passing of mandated benefits.
Richard Schulte August 25, 2012 at 01:25 pm
Another example of fine Democrat governance:
"Nineteen people were shot across the South and West sides from Thursday evening through early Friday morning -- 13 of them wounded over a 30-minute period, authorities say." http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/breaking/chi-shootings-chicago-violence-august-23-august-24-violence-gunfire-20120823,0,49779.story It's probably safer in Afghanistan that it is in Chicago. Good job Mayor Rahm. Can't blame it on Daley because he's a Democrat. Bush's fault.

The crap in my cats litter box makes more sense than you do. Say...should you not drag your ass away from your Fischer-Price computer for a few minutes and cover your single wide with some plastic traps before Isaac pisses all over you?

JS: "The crap in my cats litter box makes more sense than you do. Say...should you not drag your ass away from your Fischer-Price computer for a few minutes and cover your single wide with some plastic traps before Isaac pisses all over you?"
Well there you go again. The above is what passes for intellectual thought on the left. The brilliance of the comment above simply needs no further elaboration. Not really too worried about Hurricane Issac. I've was in New Orleans for Katrina-you simply evacuate if necessary-no big deal. I'll take my computer with me.

Romney vs. Obama in the debates-Robert Reich predicts that Romney will mop the floor with Obama.

Sully August 25, 2012 at 03:22 pm
Does this mean you consider Robert Reich credible?
McCloud August 25, 2012 at 05:02 pm
My guess is Reich, who is proven wrong time and time again, is an easy punching bag for shows like Larry Kudlow. He applauded the stimulus package and agreed that unemployment rate would be below 6% when it passed.

"In his final column for the Times, Brisbane wrote that his fellow staffers "share a kind of political and cultural progressivism" that "virtually bleeds through the fabric of The Times." Brisbane even argued that Times reporters approached some liberal issues, like gay marriage and the Occupy movement, "more like causes than news subjects." "
"Brisbane declined to comment on the column, his last as he concludes a two-year tenure as the paper's in-house critic. "I would rather let the column speak for itself," he told POLITICO." http://www.politico.com/blogs/media/2012/08/nyts-abramson-rebuts-brisbane-charge-133211.html Oh no, a mole at The New York Times outs the Times as a liberal rag. Who knew?
