Park Ridge Citizens Patrol Gets Police Scanner

Park Ridge Chamber of Commerce gives Citizens Patrol a much needed police scanner.

To stayed informed and to better serve the community, the Park Ridge Citizens Patrol was given a new police scanner. 

The Park Ridge Citizens Patrol held their annual banquet at the South Park Rec Center for its members and guests Friday, Oct. 12. At the event, Park Ridge Chamber executive director, Gail Haller, presented the Citizens Patrol with a much needed police scanner.

 Members of the Park Ridge Citizens Patrol board informed the Chamber of Commerce the group needed to new police scanner to stay informed of where police were and what acciddent they may be needed at.

"The Chamber is happy to purchase this for them because of all the work that the Citizens Patrol has done, not only for the Chamber, but for other community organizations’ events too,” Haller stated.

The Park Ridge Citizens Patrol has been volunteering with the City of Park Ridge for the community over 30 years. Their total membership is comprised of about 43 members. All Citizens Patrol members are certified in both first aid and CPR/AED.

“We would not be able to host the many events we do without the Citizens Patrol," said Haller, "This is truly a small token of our appreciation.”
