Palatine Village Council Denies Liquor License

The license was denied for Quick Liquor, 2387 N. Hicks Road in Palatine.

The Palatine Village Council denied a liquor license for the wife of a man, Muhammad Amjad, who was convicted of selling stolen alcohol and who has had his village liquor license revoked in the past because of that conviction, according to the Daily Herald.

The village council believed Amjad was trying to skirt the village's requirements by "gifting" his store Quick Liquor, 2387 N. Hicks Road, to his wife, Sadia Amjad, who applied for the liquor license, according to the Daily Herald.

Palatine village code does not allow liquor licenses to be issued to someone who has been convicted of "any federal or state law concerning the manufacture, possession or sale of liquor," according to the article.
