Palatine Assessor to Host Seminar on Filing Property Tax Appeals

The Palatine Township Assessor is hosting a seminar April 25 on how to file a property tax appeal with the Board of Review.

Palatine Township residents will have an opportunity to learn how to file a property tax appeal with the Board of Review during a seminar April 25.

The seminar is being hosted by Palatine Township Assessor Terry Kelly and will be lead by Board of Review Commissioner Dan Patlak. The seminar is being held in the main ballroom at the in Palatine at 920 E. Northwest Highway and begins at 7 p.m.

“Taxpayers have two chances every year to appeal their property taxes, once with the County Assessor and once with the Board of Review,” Kelly said in a press release. “These are two separate hearing bodies. Even if you filed an appeal with the County Assessor you can still file an appeal with the Board of Review.”

All the forms needed to file an appeal, along with staff assistance, will be provided at the seminar.
