Palatine Approves New Residential Development
Property at 262 W. Michigan Avenue and a vacant lot to the east will be developed into 14 residential homes.
Monday, the Palatine village council approved a new residential development at 262 W. Michigan Avenue to make way for a 14-lot subdivision.
The property will be rezoned from R-1 single family to a "P" planned development. Neighboring residents previously expressed concerns relating to storm water drainage.
"The developer and engineer have met with residents in the area and discussed the impact on surrounding properties," said Reid Ottesen, village manager.

In a memorandum for the village council on the matter, it states, "This project should have no adverse impact on properties to the north. The Plan Commission voted unanimously to recommend approval and staff concurs with this recommendation."
The Palatine village council gave preliminary approval of the Michigan Avenue development on June 4.

The entire subdivision area is 4.66 acres and individual lot sizes would range from 10,473 to 16,797 square feet.
A new street would be constructed in the development that would connect to Michigan Avenue.
