Ron Gbur park district's executive director from 2002 to 2012.

The Palatine District Board voted last month to rename baseball and soccer fields at Hamilton Reservoir after its former executive director, Ron Gbur, according to the Daily Herald.

Gbur served as the park district's executive director from 2002 through 2012. He first started with the park district in 1981.

Gbur is credited with helping to get the Falcon Park Recreation Center — a 49,000-square-foot facility with a indoor turf field, gymnasium and walking track—built in Palatine.
