'Drop Notice' Letter Sent in Error to Several Palatine ComEd Customers

The following information comes from a village of Palatine press release.

A Confirmation of Drop notice was sent from ComEd to a number of residents who participate in the Village's electric aggregation program. This notice stated the resident's electric account would be dropped by Integrys and moved back to ComEd.

That letter was sent in error. The Village had no involvement in this error; ComEd also had no involvement in this error, but simply followed the direction of the previous supplier, Integrys Energy.

The error was due to Integrys sending accounts back to ComEd prematurely which is both contrary to standard industry protocol as well as contrary to the process they had confirmed to undertake.

Please be assured that residents who received opt out notices regarding the Village's new supplier, Constellation, and did not opt out will very shortly receive a correct letter from ComEd confirming their enrollment with Constellation.

Power flow with Integrys will continue to meter read dates in May at which point it will switch directly to Constellation, as contracted by the Village.
