Stolen Halloween Decorations, $500 in Cash

Theft

A victim reported that on Monday, October 15 between 2 p.m and 2:10 p.m., she left her purse in a shopping cart and drove away from Jewel, 45 S. Plum Grove Rd. When the victim realized she had left her purse, she went back to the grocery store and discovered her purse, and its contents, was gone. In addition to the purse, valued at $10, various credit cards, $500 in cash, the victim's drivers license and social security all were taken.

Burglary to Motor Vehicle

A victim reporeted that a 2000 Chevy Impala was burglarized on Oct. 16 between 12:30am to 5 a.m. in the 1100 E. Boock of Randville Dr. The owner noticed the driver's side door open, and the radio missing from the dashboard. A Kicker speaker box also was taken from the trunk, but an amplifier that was covered in the truck was left behind. The loss is estimated at $500. Police determined that the unknown suspect forcibly entered the vehicle.

A victim reported that a blue 2012 Ford Pickup was burglarized on Oct. 18 sometime between 3:30pm and 4:29 p.m. in the 1000 E. Block of Glavin Ct. The unknown suspect removed a black iPhone from the center console, in addition to a pack of cigarettes. The loss is estimated at $400. Police say it is unclear if the vehicle was locked at the time of the theft.

A victim reported that a maroon 1993 Chevy sedan was burglarized sometime between Oct. 18 at 11 p.m. and Oct. 19 at 5:05 a.m. in the 1100 E. Barberry. The victim claimed the car was locked, but when he approached it, the driver- side door was open, and the remaining doors were unlocked. A CD player, green duffle bag, soccer jersey, Nike soccer shoes, and black North Face jacket were all taken. The loss is estimated at $300. 

Theft and Criminal Damage to Property

A homewner reported that sometime between Friday, Oct. 19 at 5 p.m. and Monday, Oct. 22 at 2 p.m., a Halloween decoration display in front of the home in the 1200 block of E. Cooper Dr. was stolen and/or damaged. Several figurines were thrown to the ground and ten Halloween masks were stolen. The loss is estimated at $250. 

DUI

Jose Guadalupe-Ramirez, 29, of the 500 E. Block of Palatine Rd, was arrested for driving under the influence on Oct. 22 at 2:54 a.m. in the 900 block of N. Williams Drive. Charges included DUI, DUI with a blood alcohol level greater than .08, improper parking on the roadway, no insurance, no valid registration, no drivers license, illegal transportation of alcohol and felony aggravated DUI.
