Seven-year Sentence for Palatine Car Burglary
A Chicago man was sentenced to seven years in prison for burglarizing a car in Palatine, the Daily Herald reports.
A 58-year-old Chicago man who pled guilty to a Palatine car burglary was sentenced to seven years in prison. The Daily Herald reports, the seven-year sentence was based on a 27-year history of previous convictions.
With 10 convictions to his name, Terry Seawood, 58, of Chicago was eligible for an extended sentence. According to the Daily Herald, Seawood had multiple convictions for burglary, retail theft and possession of a controlled substance.
According to the Palatine Police Department, a witness burglarizing a vehicle in the 1700 block of N. Rand Road on Jan. 14, 2012.

As Patch first reported in January, Seawood was charged with one count of burglary after a witness spotted him removing numerous items from a car with a smashed rear window in the parking lot of a condominium complex.
Police said Seawood had taken a Sony car stereo, 8 CDs, a wrench and a screwdriver from the vehicle before the witness stepped in to stop the burglary in progress. The Good Samaritan chased, caught and held Seawood until police arrived to make the arrest.
