May 10

A Barrington Hills couple was found dead Thursday, May 10 in .

The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office . Police were at their home at the end of Lakeview Lane early Thursday morning.

When police searched the home, they found Jospeh Damato dead in the garage, and found Julianne Damato dead in the second floor master bedroom. Julianne Damato . Joseph Damato .

Lake Bluff

May 5

An animal that looked like in the 300 block of Wimbledon Court at 1:30 p.m. May 5.

Police said that a landscaper told them that his son was cutting the grass in the backyard of a house and jump into the trees and run toward the railroad tracks.

The animal was described as having a long tail about . The body was larger than the family dog that weighed 120 pounds.

Buffalo Grove

May 6

An official reported that an intoxicated man arrived at looking for a dentist’s office at 2:30 p.m. May 7. The man then began speaking with customers and making a nuisance of himself. Officers located the man and gave him a ride to his dentist’s office.

May 6

Officers responded to a report of people fighting at 1:40 a.m. May 6 in a room at . When the officers entered the room, they found a man lying on the kitchen floor with his face swollen and nose bleeding. Another person was found on the floor of the bedroom with redness and swelling to his face. Both were intoxicated. One was transported to Condell Hospital and the other to Northwest Community Hospital. An officer will follow up once they are released.

May 4

A resident of the 1-100 block of Wakefield lane reported that someone spray-painted her mailbox and sidewalk between 8 p.m. May 4 and 11:25 a.m. May 5. The paint formed the word “meow” on the mailbox and a cat’s head on the ground.

May 3

A school bus driver requested assistance with an out-of-control juvenile on the bus at 2:20 p.m. May 3. The bus was in the parking lot. Officers found the boy hiding under a seat and had difficulty dealing with him. The boy was transported to the police station, and his mother came to pick him up.

Grayslake

May 6

Nina A. Berta, 35, of 127 Bluff Avenue, Grayslake, was charged with felony driving on a suspended or revoked drivers license while on a B.A.I.I.D. (Breath Alcohol Ignition Interlock Device) and summary suspension. She was stopped May 6 near Corporate Circle and Atkinson Road. She was taken to the Lake County Jail.

May 3

Tyler M. Beal, 19, of 355 Alta Drive, Grayslake, was charged with leaving the scene of a an accident where there was property damage, failure to give aid or information, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. He was stopped on May 3 near Library Lane and Center Street. He was released pending a court date of June 20.

Libertyville

May 5

Andrew T. Gregory, 19, of 624 S. Dymond Road, Libertyville, was charged with aggravated fleeing and eluding May 5 near Valley Park Drive and South 7th Avenue. Police said they observed the vehicle traveling at what appeared to be a high rate of speed and attempted to stop it.

The vehicle turned onto South 4th Avenue and accelerated, disobeying stop signs, police said. Though police lost sight of the vehicle, they located it in a yard on the 800 block of Valley Park Drive, where it had driven off the road and struck the side of a house. Nobody in the house was injured, police said, and Gregory sustained minor injuries. Gregory was cited with criminal damage to property, two counts of speeding, three counts of disobeying a stop sign, driving too fast for conditions and reckless driving. His court date has not yet been set.

May 5

Tracy Anne Kitchen, 31, of 351 Getchell Ave., Grayslake, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol May 5 near North Milwaukee and Ellis avenues. She also was cited with improper lane use. She was released on a $1,000 personal recognizance bond pending a June 22 court date.

Palatine

May 2

A purse was stolen out of a shopping cart at Target, 679 East Dundee Road, at 1:55 p.m. The victim reported that she left her cart unattended while she was looking at something. The store’s lost-prevention service reviewed security camera footage and saw that a white female with brown hair took the purse out of the cart and carried it into the women’s restroom. The purse was found in the restroom, but the wallet and its contents were missing.
