Rash of Car Burglaries at Family Aquatic Center

Five vehicles were burglarized on July 8.

Palatine police are investigating several vehicle burglaries that occurred Friday, July 8 in the parking lot of the , 340 E. Palatine Road.

The first four incidents occurred between 2 and 2:10 p.m.

  • A gray 2005 GMC Yukon had its passenger window shattered. Taken from the vehicle were a black Gap purse, $500, a wallet and 20 to 25 credit cards.
  • 2009 white Nissan van had is driver-side window smashed. A black handbag and a Panasonic speaker were taken.
  • A 2010 white Toyota SUV had its rear driver-side window smashed. Taken were a silver coach purse, a black coach wallet, $15, and various credit cards.
  • A 2009 silver Hyundai SUV had is driver-side window smashed. Taken were a tan leather Coach purse valued at $200, a black 16GB iPod Classic valued at $250, a silver iPod touch valued at $235, a tan Coach wallet valued at $150, various credit cards and $50.

A fifth incident was reported the same day.

  • A white 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe was burglarized between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. The vehicle was unlocked. Taken were two purses and a cell phone.
