Buffalo Grove police are asking for the public's help in identifying a man who robbed PNC Bank Monday afternoon.
Police said a white man, about 5-foot-8, who was wearing glasses, a Chicago Bears hat and striped sweater entered the bank's Lake-Cook Road location and demanded money from a teller at 4:50 p.m. Nov. 19.
No weapon was displayed or mentioned by the robber. The teller turned over an undisclosed amount of money and the man left on foot, police said. No one was injured during the incident.
Deputy Chief Steve Husak said Buffalo Grove police are working with the FBI to identify the suspect, who was caught on the bank's surveillance camera. He said that anyone who recognizes the man, who is pictured here, should call the police department at (847) 459-4560.
Husak said that witnesses and bank employees questioned so far have not recognized the man.
Bank robberies in Buffalo Grove are relatively rare, but they do happen in the village every three or four years, Husak said. And when they do, he said, "it seems like it's always around the Christmas season."
