A Palatine woman was tied up and left in the basement while two armed men burglarized her home on West Brookline Court.

Bound with duct tape, a Palatine woman was left tied up in her basement Wednesday morning while two armed men burglarized her home and stole her SUV, police said.

The 46-year-old woman arrived home on the 400 block of West Brookline Court at 9:20 a.m. and walked into a home invasion. Officers with the Palatine Police Department responded to the reported home invasion and burglary in a small cul-de-sac in the Wexford subdivision, just off of Euclid Road.

According to police, the woman was not seriously injured during the home invasion and refused any medical attention.

Police were able to track the stolen vehicle through an active “On-Star” system, the Escalade was found abandoned on West Monroe Street in Chicago Wednesday.

The suspects are described as black men in their 20s, one being about 5-foot-7 and 140 pounds, the other standing around 5-foot-10, weighing about 160 pounds.

Well two males from Chicago do not just arrive in Palatine and do a burglary. They also do not expect the owner to come home making it a robbery home invasion. So who do these burglars know? What do they know? And why Palatine and this particular home.

Too bad there wasn't a vicious dog in the house to tear those a-holes to shreds.

Their welfare checks and food stamps isn't enough to make ends meet. So they rob a HARD WORKING citizen.

There has been a string of burglaries in this general area of Palatine. Typically the houses have been unlocked, so everybody be as careful as possible!
