Palatine Police: Two Arrested Stealing $1,450 In Mucinex

The second floor bedroom window of a home in the 400 block of E. Osage Lane was broken sometime between 7:10 p.m. and 7:21 p.m.

Vasyl Bodnar of Arlington Heights, was charged with DUI, DUI with a blood alcohol level above .08, improper lane use and changing lanes without signaling after a traffic stop at 2:12 a.m. near N. Hicks Road and Route 14.

Jim Hardin, 30, of Bloomingdale and Alex Nicholas Wemken, 25, of Bloomingdale, were charged with retail theft and possession of a controlled subtance after taking more than $1,450 of Mucinex from Walgreens.
The incident occured between 4:20 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. A witness saw Hardin and Wemken placing boxes of Mucinex in their jackets. Palatine Police were called and arrived shortly after the two left the store without paying for the items. Police were given a description of the vehicle Hardin and Wemken left in and pulled them over.
Police said the pair had taken 52 boxes of Mucinex.
