Palatine Police To Step Up Patrols For Memorial Day

The Palatine Police Department is planning to increase patrols to promote safe driving during the Memorial Day holiday.

The Palatine Police Department will use saturation patrols to encourage safe driving during the Memorial Day holiday.

Palatine is participating in the Illinois Department of Transportation's "Click It or Ticket" campaign and will use grant funding to step up patrols during IDOT's Memorial Day Holiday Traffic Campaign.

A press release from the department states that officers will be "out on our roadways strictly enforcing traffic violations relating to safety restraint, speeding, and motorists driving under the influence of alcohol throughout the Memorial Day Holiday."

The department will use uniformed officers in saturation patrols and will also initiate seat-belt enforcement zones throughout Palatine between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m.
