Palatine Police: Man Tried To Lure Boy Into Vehicle

Palatine police are looking for information about an incident that occurred July 7 in which a man tried to lure a boy into his vehicle.

The Palatine Police Department is investigating an incident in which man tried to lure a male juvenile into his vehicle.

The incident happened July 7 at 5:30 p.m. The male juvenile told police that he was in the 100 block of South Ash Street when a red Ford pickup traveling southbound on Ash stopped.

The driver exited the vehicle and called out to the boy stating his mom was hurt and offered him a rid. The juvenile ran from the area, police said. The juvenile's mother contacted police later that evening.

The red pickup is described as possibly a Ford F-250. The offender is described as a white male, 5 feet 10 inches tall, with brown hair, muscular arms and a large stomach.

The man was wearing a blue or green T-shirt and unknown color shorts.
