Palatine Police Blotter: T. J. Maxx's Nuts Stolen

The following information was provided by the Palatine Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Nov. 3

The front windshield of a 1995 Chevy Silverado was smashed sometime between 1:30 a.m. and 5:40 a.m. in the 1300 block of Turtle Creek Circle. Damage was estimated at $500.

Police received a report that a theft had occurred by an employee at , 1311 N. Rand Rd. Store management had set up a camera and observed video of an employee taking packages of pistachio nuts between Oct. 13 and Oct. 19. A total of 10 bags were taken. The nuts were placed in a lunchbox and then the employee would leave. The value of the nuts was $172.95. Edwin Little, 43, of Carpentersville was charged with theft.

Susan L. Conover, 46, of Barrington, was charged with speeding, DUI and DUI blood-alcohol level above .08 after a traffic stop at 12:42 a.m. in the 100 block of N. Northwest Higway.

Nov. 4

A 1995 Mercury van was burglarized in the parking garage of the Palatine Library, 700 North Court. The front passenger window of the van was smashed and one of its rear tires slashed. Taken from the vehicle was a laptop computer and a Blackberry cell phone.

Nov. 5

Mark C. Kiecik, 25, of Des Plaines, was charged with improper lane use, no insurance and DUI after a traffic stop at 3:15 a.m. on Illinois Avenue.

Nov. 6

Maria Gonzalez, 39, of Palatine, was charged with retail theft after taking Colgate toothpaste, a Gillete razor, a power bar, erasers, Band-Aids, and gum from , 615 E. Dundee Rd., and leaving without paying. The items were valued at $63.49.

Nov. 6

Two vehicles were damaged in an apartment parking lot in the 700 block of E. Pennsylvania Avenue sometime between midnight and 6 a.m. A 2008 Chevy van had its rear windshield shattered and a 2004 Ford Mustang had a front quarter panel dented. Police arrived and found a blood trail that they followed from the Chevy to the Ford. The trail then went to an apartment door. At the apartment, police said that Roy Feltson, Jr., 22, of Palatine, admitted to causing the damage. He refused medical treatment and was charged with knowingly causing property damage.

Nov. 6

A 2005 Hyundai had key scratches down the length of the vehicle on the passenger and driver's side. The incident occurred between 5 a.m. and 10:32 p.m. in the 700 block of Independence Drive.
