Palatine Police Blotter: Retail Theft, DUIs, Car Burglary

The following information was provided by the Palatine police department. An arrest is merely an accusation, not a determination of guilt.

Burglary to Motor Vehicle

Sometime between Feb. 21 and Feb. 22 someone shattered the front passenger window of a 2011 Nissan in the 2500 block of N. Bayside Drive. Taken from the center console were two Ipods.

Criminal Damage to Vehicle

Four tires were slashed on a 2002 Dodge truck sometime between Feb. 22 and Feb. 23 in the 1300 block of N. Ports O'Call.

Retail Theft

Robert P. Johnson, 43, of Palatine, was charged with retail theft Feb. 21 at Walmart, 1555 N. Rand Road. Police said Johnson place a Wilson tennis racket valued at $16.97 and attempted to leave the store without paying.

DUI

Oscar O. Pelayo-Vidana, 32, of Des Plaines was charged with DUI on Feb. 21. Pelayo-Vidana was pulled over in the 800 block of E. Palatine Road at 9:20p.m. He also was charged with improper lane usage and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

Richard Allen Emery, 56, of Hudson, Florida, was charged with DUI on Feb. 22. Emery was pulled over at 3:57 a.m. in the 1600 block of Baldwin. He also was charged with improper lane usage.

Marcy J. Des Jardins, 51, of Kenosha, Wisc., was charged with DUI on Feb. 22 after being stopped on Hicks Road at 8:15 p.m. Des Jardins also was charged with improper lane usage.
