Palatine Police Blotter: Rash Of Car Burglaries

The following information was provided by the Palatine Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Dec. 29

A 2008 Audi A4 was burglarized between 7:30 a.m. and 4:10 p.m. in the 1200 block of E. Baldwin Lane. The front passenger side window was smashed. Taken from the vehicle was a radar detector valued at $325.

Dec. 29

A 2007 Jeep Liberty was burglarized between 6:30 p.m. Dec. 29 and 10:15 a.m. Dec. 30 in the 100 block of S. Kerwood Street. A bowling ball was taken from the unlocked vehicle.

Dec. 29

A 2008 Toyota Tacoma was burglarized in the first block of N. Linden Drive between 10 p.m. Dec. 29 and 7:15 a.m. Dec. 30. Taken from the unlocked vehicle was $20, and two gift cards with a total value of about $30.

Dec. 29

A 1993 Ford Mustang was burglarized between 5 p.m. Dec. 29 and 5:30 a.m. Dec. 30 in the first block of N. Linden Drive. Taken from the unlocked vehicle was about $10 in change and a mini-Maglite flashlight valued at $15.

Dec. 29

A 2010 Dodge Caravan minivan was burglarized between 6 p.m. Dec. 29 and 3 p.m. Dec. 30 in the first block of S. Linden Drive. Taken from the unlocked vehicle was $4 in change and a flashlight valued at $10.

Dec. 29

A 1998 Volkswagen Jetta was searched sometime between 10:30 p.m. Dec. 29 and 6:45 a.m. Dec. 30 in the first block of N. Linden Drive. Nothing was taken.

Dec. 30

A 2010 Honda CR-V was burglarized sometime between midnight and 6:30 a.m. in the first block of S. Kerwood Street. Taken from the unlocked vehicle was a red Coach bag, makeup valued at about $100, an 18-inch gold chain with a half carat solitaire diamond valued at $4,700, a white gold chain with a heart diamond valued at $375.

Dec. 30

Andrea L. Earll, 30, of Florida was charged with misdemeanor retail theft. Earll took three pairs of underwear, one white shirt, black pants, bracelets and a wallet from , 1555 N. Rand Road. Some of the items were placed in the front of her pants and some in her purse.

Dec. 31

Daniel J. Allaire, 35, of Palatine, was charged with DUI, improper lane use, and driving with one headlight after a traffic stop at 2:30 a.m. near the intersection of Rand Road and Winslowe Drive.

Dec. 31

A Ford Ranger truck parked in at , 50 E. Palatine Road, had both of its drivers side windows smashed. The incident occurred sometime between 5 p.m. Dec. 31 and 8 a.m. January 3.

Dec. 31

A 1999 black Honda Civic was stolen from an apartment complex parking lot in the 700 block of E. Independence Drive. Also stolen were various tools that were inside the vehicle. The incident occurred between 12:45 a.m. Dec. 31 and 12:51 a.m. Dec. 31.

Dec. 31

A 1998 Chevrolet Astro Van was burglarized between 5:10 p.m. and 5:20 p.m. at , 1190 E. Dundee Road. The vehicle was unlocked at the time. Taken was a black purse, bank card, two child medical cards and $50.

Jan. 2

Deborah Monnier, 55, of Palatine was charged with DUI and driving without headlights when required after a traffic stop at 11:39 p.m. in the 400 block of W. Balsam Lane.

Jan. 3

An 8-foot red plow was taken from the driveway of a home in the 700 block of W. Anthony Drive. The incident occurred sometime between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. The plow was valued at $3,500.
