Palatine Police Blotter: $6K Stolen from Victoria’s Secret Bag, Car Shaving Creamed

Criminal Damage to Vehicle

Unknown offender(s) bent the driver’s side windshield wiper ($20) of a 2007 Jeep SUV parked in the 1100 block of E. Prairie Brook Dr.  on March 30 between 4 p.m. and 10 p.m. A glue-like substance was placed on the driver’s ride window molding and shaving cream was found on the vehicle.

Burglary to Motor Vehicle

Unknown offender(s) rummaged through a silver 2002 Honda coupe parked in a residential driveway in the 200 block of W. Illinois Ave. sometime between March 29 at 11:30 p.m. and March 30 at 7:30 a.m. Taken was a Victoria’s Secret bag containing $6,000 in U.S. currency, and Oakley backpack and an Apple iPad. A second car in the driveway was entered but nothing was missing.

Unknown offender(s) smashed the front passenger window of a blue and white 1992 BMW sedan in an apartment parking lot in the 1500 block of N. Winslowe Dr. The contents of the glove box were strewn about the interior of the vehicle and $2 in loose change was taken.

Unknown offender(s) shattered the driver’s side window ($150) of a gold Chrysler minivan parked at Halloran Power Equipment, 2159 N. Rand Rd. on April 1 at 10:30 a.m. A black leather briefcase ($100), driver’s license, social security card, credit card, check book, medications and other miscellaneous items were taken.

Theft/Retail Theft

Both instances below occurred at Walmart, 1555 N. Rand Road. 

Adriana Gopar, 24,  of the 1900 block of N. Green Ln. was arrested and charged with local ordinance retail theft for taking $44.33 in merchandise on March 29 past the last point of sale without paying.

Angela N. Bramblett, 34, of the 1300 block of N. Knollwood Dr. was arrested and charged with local ordinance retail theft on March 31 between 6:45 p.m. and 7:05 p.m. for taking $122.02 in merchandise past the last point of sale without paying.

Driving Under the Influence

Courtney A. Walocha, 21, of the 1100 block of E. Carpenter Dr. was arrested for DUI on March 31 at 2:48 a.m. near the 300 block of E. Palatine Rd.  Walocha is charged with DUI, DUI with a Blood Alcohol Content of More than .08, Driving without Headlights when Required, Improper Lane Usage, and Operation of an Uninsured Motor Vehicle.
