Palatine Man Charged After Allegedly Stabbing Roommate

A Palatine man remains in critical condition after allegedly being stabbed by his roommate on Dec. 30.

A 38-year-old Palatine man has been arrested and charged with two felony counts of aggravated battery for allegedly stabbing his roommate in an altercation on Dec. 30, according to a press release from the Palatine Police Department.

Bond was set at $30,000 Friday for Enrique Galeana 38, of 1720 N. Rose Ave., Palatine. His next court date is Jan. 24.

Palatine Police responded to an ambulance assist call at the residence at about 8:30 a.m. on Dec. 30. The caller said a male subject was lying in the hallway bleeding from his abdomen. The victim, who lives in the building, informed police he was stabbed during a physical altercation with his roommate.

The victim was transported to Lutheran General Hospital and, after multiple surgeries, remains in critical condition.
