Fire Destroys Palatine Townhouse

A fire early Saturday morning left a townhouse near Dundee and Hicks roads uninhabitable, the Daily Herald reports.

Palatine firefighters battled a blaze at a seven-unit townhouse building near Dundee and Hicks roads early Saturday morning, the Daily Herald reports.

Flames were seen from the second floor balcony at 1400 block of North Waterbury Circle. According to theDaily Herald, firefighters found fire in the walls and the floors of the smoke filled, second story unit. By the time firefighters extinguished the blaze, the fire had left the Palatine townhouse uninhabitable, the Daily Herald reports.

No one was injured and the fire did not spread to any of the six other units in the building. According to the newspaper, the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
