Crews Extinguish Palatine Garage Fire Late Thursday Night

No one was injured and the estimated damage amount is $50,000.

The Palatine Fire Department responded to a report of a garage fire at 635 S. Stuart Avenue in Palatine on Thursday, July 12 at 11:48 p.m. There were no injuries reported.

The caller told the dispatcher that heavy black smoke was coming out of the attached garage and that everyone was out of the house.  The first Palatine Fire Department crew arrived on the scene and reported that smoke was showing from the front and flames from the rear of the attached garage. Firefighters brought the fire under control in 19 minutes.

Crews searched the building and verified that there was nobody inside the home. The Rolling Meadows Fire Department and Palatine Rural Fire Department assisted.

Damage was estimated at $50,000 and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
