Cook County Sheriff Plans Roadside Safety Checkpoint

The Cook County Sheriff Department is planning a roadside safety checkpoint Friday, Sept. 2.

Cook County Sheriff’s Police will conduct a roadside safety checkpoint during the evening hours on Friday, Sept. 2 near Busse Woods, Central Grove #4, located on W. Higgins Road in Schaumburg, Cook County Sheriff Thomas J. Dart said in a press release.

During the safety check, vehicles will be stopped randomly based on the flow of traffic. Drivers will be screened for proper licensing and registration while all vehicles will be checked for equipment and other violations. Also, any suspicious passengers will be subject to questioning by police.

The Sheriff’s Random Roadside Safety Check Program is conducted regularly across Cook County in an effort to promote safe driving.
