Blotter: Wallet Stolen from Shopping Cart and More

Theft and Fraud Report; Wallet Stolen from Shopping Cart

 A woman’s wallet was stolen from her purse, which was placed in the front basket of her shopping cart. The theft occurred between noon and 1 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 7 at the Jewel-Osco located at 423 E. Dundee Road.

The victim realized her brown wallet containing various credit cards, an Illinois Driver’s License, $25 cash, a checkbook, a social security card and a personal health insurance card was gone while in the check out line of the grocery store.

When the woman called to report the credit cards stolen, one credit card company informed her $837.00 in charges had already been racked up at a Target store. The location of the Target store is unknown and the police are still investigating the reported theft and fraudulent activity.

Residential Burglary

At 100 S. Cedar Street a home was burglarized on Monday, Sept. 10, sometime between 11:15 a.m. and 12:40 p.m.

When the owners returned home, the storm door located inside the attached garage was pried open. Taken from the home was a safe (contents unknown), $400 in cash, a gold and diamond bracelet and rings.

Aggravated DUI

Roni Javier Chavez-Roque, 36, of Palatine was charged with aggravated DUI, DUI with blood-alcohol level over .08, no valid driver’s license, improper lane usage and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Chavez-Roque was arrested after a traffic stop at 1:30 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 7 at the 1200 block of N. Rand Road.

DUI Arrests

Corey A. Manno, 21, of Arlington Heights was charged with DUI, DUI with blood-alcohol level over .08, speeding and improper lane usage.  Headed South, Manno was stopped by police at 5:35 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5 at the 2100 block of N. Route 14.

Shannon E. Fahey, 25, of Arlington Heights was stopped at the 500 block of E. Palatine Road at 2:55 a.m. on Friday, Sept 7. Fahey was charged with DUI, DUI with blood-alcohol level over .08 and improper lane usage.
