Arlington Heights Shooting A Murder-Suicide: Medical Examiner

The Cook County Medical Examiner's office ruled that the shooting deaths of an Arlington Heights couple was a murder-suicide.

The Cook County Medical Examiner's office has ruled that Roger D. James shot and killed his wife before turning the gun on himself.

James, 48, and his wife, 56-year-old Angelita . Officers went to the home in the 900 block of East Shady Way in Arlington Heights at about 8:40 a.m. after Angelita's son called police, concerned that his mother had not shown up for work for two days.

"The Medical Examiner’s Office determined Angelita James died from multiple gunshot wounds and ruled the cause of death to be a homicide, and determined Roger D. James died from a single gunshot wound and ruled the cause of death to be a suicide," a press release from the Arlington Heights Police Department states.
