Fashion Friday: What's Your Purse-onality?

Who doesn't love a great looking bag?  Your bags are a way to accessorize your wardrobe without buying a whole new outfit. They add color, style, and are a reflection of your “Purse-onality”..Not to mention a practical way to carry your necessities. Your handbag is your go to item for personal items, perhaps work, children , or school items.

 So where do you start when looking for a great fashionable, functional, versatile   bag?

 What's YOUR Style? Solids? Prints? Neutrals? Bolds? Pastels? Are you trying to make a statement? Be on trend or just trendy? Handbag buying is an emotional purchase that makes you feel good about looking great!  You have to feel comfortable with what you are wearing, buying what you love, not for someone else.

FUNCTION

A great bag also is functional. Examine the pocket structure to ensure you have a place for all your necessities and can easily find them. Are you a commuter on public transportation? Then a zippered bag is most secure. Juggling work, kids, and personal items.  Compartments in this case are key. The need you are buying for determines the size and complexity of your bag.

One of the hottest trends right now is the cross body. Compact, yet highly efficient, these bags take the weight off back and shoulders and are great for on the go. They come in a variety of sizes. Choose yours based on what you will carrying including your id, passport, cell phone, cash, and more.

Strap length is one of the most important features to consider. Try on the bag. How does it sit on your shoulder? Easy to access items inside? Straps should be long enough to fit over your sweaters and coats. Adjustable straps are great for converting your bag for different situations.

Outside pockets are important if you need immediate access to your keys , cell or parking ticket. Clear pockets in a bag bring ease to finding your keys, lipstick, receipts, and items you need to access routinely.

Light durable interiors are a must for finding items even in low lit situations.

Exterior fabrics are important to consider. Will you be outside a lot? Or perhaps have an occupation in a dirty or germy environment?  In these cases laminates that easily wipe off and or can be disinfected are a must.  If your hearts in fabric, cloth or microsued ,see if it can be treated or coated.

Interior fabrics are just as important. A laminate is great for wipe ability and essential in your make up bags. Nylon is superior for situations where you make me carrying damp items as it doesn’t mildew.
