Over the course of the summer, Palatine Park District scheduled sixteen free concerts for the community. Due to uncooperative weather conditions, a few of those events were canceled or rescheduled.
The final rescheduled concert for the year will be taking place this Friday, September 6 at 7:00pm at the Fred P. Hall Amphitheater, 262 E. Palatine Road, Palatine. Steve Vazquez will present Guitar Across the World, a free concert presented by Northwest Community Healthcare, this year’s 4th Thursday Concert Series sponsor. Musicians have always been fascinated and inspired by the rich traditions of other cultures and countries. The result is often a wonderful piece of music that is created in homage to a variety of different traditions. Hear Steve Vazquez perform some wonderful guitar works that were composed in this spirit of cultural exchange by Leo Brouwer, Stepan Rak, Roland Dyens, Dusan Bogdanovic, and more.
