Sports for Adults in Palatine

A wide variety of sports options including leagues, classes and drop-in programs are offered for adults and seniors.

Palatine Park District offers a wide variety of sports for adults. New sessions of most programs will begin in January 2013 and several programs have registration deadlines of December 30. Register online at www.palatineparks.org, or register by mail, fax, drop-off, or in person at Community Center, Birchwood, or Falcon Park. Adult Co-Ed Volleyball
Competitive and recreational divisions will be offered on Fridays from 7:30pm to 10:30pm. The league will be held at Falcon Park from January 11 to March 1; the registration deadline is December 30. 

Men’s Open Soccer League
Games are 7 on 7 in this league for men. Games will be played at Falcon Park on Thursday and Friday evenings. The league will be held from January 10 through March 1; the registration deadline is December 30.

2 on 2 Adult Wiffle Ball
This new recreational league will include co-ed, female or male teams. Play includes one fielder and on pitcher while on defense, and one person bats at a time on offense. The league will be held at Falcon Park from January 8 through February 26 on Tuesday evenings; the registration deadline is December 30. 

Women’s Sports
Sports including soccer, softball, kickball, and volleyball will be played on the turf and in the gym at Falcon Park in a relaxed, recreational setting. The program is held on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9:30am to 11:30am from January 8 through June 6.

50+ Bocce Ball Drop-In
This drop in program is open to new and experienced players. The first three visits are free! The program will be offered from January 8 through March 26 on Tuesdays from 8:30am to 10;30am at Falcon Park. 

Pickleball for the 50+ Crowd
Learn the fastest growing racquet sport in America on Monday and Friday mornings from January 7 through April 5. The first three visits are free for new participants. This program is held at Falcon Park. 

Indoor Golf Lessons
Palatine Hills Golf Pros will be leading golf lessons indoors this winter at Golf Nation. Four week programs include Short Game Clinic, Parent/Child Clinic, and Intro to Golf. Classes will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays in February. 

Men’s Basketball League
Registration is currently taking place for returning and new resident teams. Returning non-resident teams can begin to register on December 31; the registration deadline is January 19. 

Recreational Volleyball
This informal drop-in program fills each night on a first-come, first-served basis. The program is held at Community Center Gym on Thursdays from 7:00pm to 10:00pm and at Falcon Park Recreation Center on Sundays from 4:30pm to 8:00pm. Dates for Community Center are January 3 to April 4; dates for Falcon Park are January 6 to May 26.

Adult Softball
Several adult softball  options are available through Palatine Park District, including men’s 12” Softball, Men’s 16” Softball, Co-Rec 14” Softball, and the Chicagoland Legends 12” Softball league.
