Palatine Park District presents Flying 4 Kids, a free kite fly, on Saturday, April 27 at 10:00am at Margreth Riemer Reservoir, located near the corner of Palatine and Quentin Roads in Palatine.  Bring your kites to the park and join the community for this 8th annual free event. The event will include free kite kits to the first 100 children courtesy of Kiwanis Club of Palatine and Palatine Park District. Raffles will also be held.

This event is presented in conjunction with the Kiwanis Club of Palatine who will be on hand at their kite repair booth, staffed by the Kiwanis kite repair experts.  Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time. For more information about the Kiwanis Club of Palatine, call 847-701-4554 or visit palatinekiwanis.com.

Flying 4 Kids is part of a series of statewide kite flies that have been created in an effort to raise awareness of parks, recreation, and the Park District Youth License Plate program which helps raise funds for after school programs. The sale and subsequent renewals of each plate generate $25 for the PowerPlay! Beyond School Grant Program, which funds youth programs in park and recreation agencies throughout Illinois. The goal of the PowerPlay! program is to increase the number of opportunities designed to show youth the lifelong benefits of fitness, health and nutrition.
