Cutting Hall Film Series Brings Movies to Palatine

Saturday morning family friendly movies on the big screen at Cutting Hall.

Looking for a new indoor activity during the cold winter months? The Cutting Hall Film Series offers family friendly film options in Palatine. Films will be shown at 10:30am on the big screen at historic Cutting Hall Performing Arts Center, 150 E. Wood Street, Palatine. Tickets for the films are just $6 per person and can be purchased at www.cuttinghall.org or 847-202-5222.

In this 2011 film, intrepid reporter Tintin and Captain Haddock set off on a treasure hunt for a sunken ship commanded by Haddock’s ancestor. From producer Peter Jackson (The Lord of the Rings trilogy) and legendary director Stephen Spielberg.

There follow confusing but sinister doings in a gloomy mansion and a private sanatorium, where every plot twist is a parody of thriller clichés. Starring comedian Bob Hope and Dorothy Lamour.

 

The Wizard of Oz (1939)

In anticipation of the release of Oz: The Great and Powerful, currently scheduled for March 8, 2013, the Cutting Hall Film Series will be presenting a screening of the original 1939 classic. Experience the adventure as Dorothy Gale is swept away to a magical land in a tornado and embarks on a quest to see the Wizard who can help her return home.
