Brighton Collectibles in Deer Park Donates Funds to Palatine Parks Foundation Arts Scholarships

Sales from the Americana Bracelet at Brighton Collectibles in Deer Park will benefit arts programs for children.

Over the past decade, Brighton Collectibles has supported charities with over $8 million in donations.  The company now focuses their donation efforts towards programs that support the arts for children. At Brighton, they are passionate about helping children obtain arts education and programming opportunities that might not be possible without donated funds.  This year, Brighton Collectibles in Deer Park has chosen the Susannah’s Gift Scholarship Fund to be a recipient of the funds raised through sales of a patriotic bracelet. The Deer Park location will also support the Illinois Youth Dance Theater, located in the mall.

This year, the “Brighton Loves Kids Across America” program is centered around sales of the limited edition Americana Bracelet. This silver plated bracelet features Swarovski crystals in a patriotic design. A full 50% of the $48 purchase price of the bracelet will be donated to arts programs for children. Here in Palatine, funds will be placed in the Susannah’s Gift fund. Susannah’s Gift is a scholarship program administered by the Palatine Park Foundation.  Funds from the scholarship assist patrons with the fees for arts programs offered at the Palatine Park District. Arts programs for children offered by the Palatine Park District include a variety of music, art, theater and dance options.  Programs range from guitar and violin lessons to the culinary arts, acting classes, pottery classes, and dance groups.

Several of Palatine Park District’s arts groups will be offering performances and holding their classes at the Deer Park Brighton Collectibles store.  In June, the Palatine Area Marching Band will perform at 7:00pm on Thursday, June 21 at the store, located in the Deer Park Town Center, 20530 N. Rand Road in Deerfield. During the afternoon of Friday, June 22, the Caught on Film class will be at the store to shoot a music video. Several other events will be added to the calendar during the Brighton Loves Kids Across America dates of June 1 to July 31, 2012. Details will be available at www.palatineparks.org

Brighton's story is really a love story that began over 30 years ago when high school sweethearts, Terri Kravitz and Jerry Kohl (who have now been married for many years), started their own specialty store. Years later, in 1991, Brighton was launched with a single collection of belts. Over the years, Brighton has become an accessory company with something for everyone, including handbags, shoes and eyewear. The company prides itself on the "Brighton Difference," which is rooted in the philosophy that the difference is in the details. Brighton is one of the few remaining design houses where designers sketch each creation by hand and then follow the product from concept to completion. Brighton leather accessories are hand assembled and often require as many as 140 individual manufacturing steps using up to 40 different parts. The results are timeless creations that women have come to love. Contact the Brighton Collectibles store in Deer Park at 847-550-0500 or visit www.brighton.com for more information.
