Palatine Marching Band, Then and Now

Palatine High School Marching Band in 1940, and today.

From a group shot in front of the Cutting Hall Performing Arts Center at the "old" Palatine High School on Wood Street in 1940 to a photo of today's marching band on the artificial turf field at Chic Anderson Stadium at the "new" Palatine High School in 2012, the PHS marching band has come a long way!

A photo from 1940 depicting the Palatine High School Marching Band recently made its way into the hands of Carol Lange, Cultural Arts Coordinator at Palatine Park District. The photo came from the archives of the Palatine Historical Society and was provided by Marilyn Pedersen, Museum Coordinator. The photo will soon be on display at Cutting Hall Performing Arts Center, 150 E. Wood Street, Palatine.

For comparison's sake, Ms. Raeleen Horn, Music Department Chair at Palatine High School, provided a photo of this year's PHS marching band taken on the school's football field.
