Obituary: Peter J. Ogurek, 45, of Inverness

Peter was born on June 20, 1968 in Chicago, IL the son of Bernard R. and the late Charlene (nee: Becker) Ogurek, Sr. and passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 22nd at the Alexian Brothers Hospice Residence in Elk Grove Village.

Peter is survived by his beloved father Bernard R. Ogurek, Sr; his siblings Bernard R. (Dorothy) Ogurek Jr., Karen Barborek Cahill, Susan Barborek (Russell) Davis and Ruth Ogurek (David) McLane; also surviving are many nieces and nephews and other loving family and dear friends.

Peter was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend to all. He lived his life with kindness, humor, and always a helping hand for everyone. He was a well respected and admired real estate broker for over 15 years in the Chicagoland area.

His adventurous spirit led him on many escapades with his friends and family to Greece, scuba diving in Cozumel and all over the United States. He never missed a Cubs game if he could help it. His infectious laughter and vibrant soul would leave no strangers in his path. 

You never had a bad time when Peter was around. From his silly antics and jokes, his carefree spirit would make you look on the bright side in any dark situation. He will be greatly missed by everyone whose life he touched.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 30th from 3:00PM to 9:00PM at the funeral home. Services for Peter J. Ogurek will begin with prayers at 9:30AM on Saturday, August 31st, 2013 at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy., Palatine, proceeding to St. Theresa Catholic Church, 465 N. Benton Street in Palatine for funeral Mass at 10:00AM.  

Interment will be private.
