Obituary: Frederick W. Rodey, 38 Year Palatine Resident

The life of Frederick W. Rodey, who was a WWII Navy Veteran and manager of engineering at NBC in Chicago, will be honored and remembered on Tuesday, May 21.

Fred was born on October 26, 1927 the son of the late Frederick and Louise (nee: Glaser) Rodey and passed away on Friday, May 17th at the Midwest Hospice Care Center at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights.

A WWII U.S. Navy Veteran. Fred had worked as manager of engineering with NBC in Chicago retiring after 40 years of service.  Fred was also the owner of Phoenix Satellite Systems in Palatine.

Beloved husband of  38 years of  Lynne (nee Egbert) Rodey; loving father of Fred (Elaine) Rodey, Cathy (Linus) Griswold, Frederick Urban, Christine (Gary) Hannigan, Nancy Rodriguez and the late Diane Rodey; dear grandfather of Heather (Will) Cooper, Matt Griswold, Cara, Jacqueline, Emily Urban and Max Rodriguez; fond brother of Theodore (Clara Jean) Rodey and the late Harold Rodey and the late Pauline Begitschke; brother in law of Pat Rodey and Raymond Begitschke; also surviving are many nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends; Fred was preceded in death by his first wife Doris Rodey.

Memorial visitation for Frederick W. Rodey will be held on Tuesday, May 21st from 9:30AM until the time of the memorial Mass at 10:30AM at Holy Family Catholic Church, 2515 Palatine Road, Inverness.  Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers memorials in Fred’s name would be appreciated for any animal shelter or rescue.
