Obituary: Diana Zeiger, 43-Year Palatine Resident

Zeiger was a head school nurse for the Itasca School district, held a masters degree and was an instructor for SeniorNet, she passed away on February 25.

Diana R. Zeiger, 77, was a resident of Palatine for 43 years.

She was born on March 20, 1935 in Milwaukee, WI, and passed away February 25 at her home surrounded by her family.

Diana was the beloved wife of Richard Zeiger; loving mother of Susan (the late Jeffrey) Heckert and David (Lorie) Zeiger; cherished grandmother of Stefani and Ricky Zeiger; dear sister of Helen Roberts and the late Georgia Newton; fond aunt and cousin to many.

Diana received her degree in nursing from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. She and her husband started dating during their freshman year and subsequently, married in 1958. Dick and Diana moved to Palatine in 1970.

Diana later became a school nurse in order to match her work schedule with her children's school schedule. She was the head school nurse for the Itasca School District for many years. During that time, she received a Masters Degree from Roosevelt University to enhance her skills.Upon retirement, she became active as an instructor and officer for the SeniorNet computer organization.
