Marjorie A. Mara, 82, Palatine

Marjorie Ann Mara, nee Poss, 82, of Palatine, passed away Dec. 13.

Visitation will be held 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec 16  at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 185 E. Northwest Hwy., Palatine, and 9:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 2515 W. Palatine Road, Inverness. A Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. Interment St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery.

Born February 18, 1931, in Buffalo, NY, Marjorie was a practicing nurse for 50 years. She retired after 28 years of service at Northwest Community Hospital.

Marjorie was the beloved wife of the late Charles; loving mother of Maralyn (Rick) Kolze, Mark (Barbara) Mara, Sally (Ed) Chmiel, Matthew (Ruth) Mara and the late Kevin Mara; cherished grandmother of Ricky (Jenny Newton) and Mara Kolze, Jackie (Adam) Derry and Michael Mara, Ali (Dan) Galuszka and Andy Chmiel, Katie (Zach) Stewart, Matthew Mara and Jessica Kosior, and Michelle (Dave) Douglas, Mark and the late Cassandra Mara and great grandmother of Damien Douglas; dear sister of John (Kathleen) Poss and the late Marilynn Pierce; fond aunt to many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Marjorie's name to Midwest Palliative & Hospice Care Center, 2050 Claire Court, Glenview, IL 60025, would be appreciated.
