Leona Margaret Kaltsas, 100

Leona Margaret Kaltsas, 100, a resident of St. Joseph Home for the Elderly, Palatine and formerly of Chicago.

A funeral Mass for Leona Kaltsas will be held on Friday, April 13 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 2515 Palatine Road, Inverness with interment following at St. Joseph Cemetery in River Grove.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 12 from 3-9 p.m. at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy., Palatine and from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Friday at the church.

Leona was born the daughter of the late Michael and Anna (nee Birk) Zeller in Huntingburg, IN and lived in the Evansville, IN area during first part of her life.  Leona passed away peacefully with her family at her bedside on Holy Thursday, April 5, 2012 at St. Joseph Home for the Elderly, Palatine. 

Beloved wife of the late Louis Kaltsas; loving mother of John (Joan) and James (Karen) Kaltsas, Mary (George) Allie and Margaret (Michael) Wierzbicki; cherished grandmother of David, Mark, Joseph and Katie Kaltsas, Melissa and Brian Kaltsas, Steven Allie, Kathy Goscinski, Jennifer Reichel, Scott and Ann Wierzbicki; great grandmother of 14; fond sister of Ruth Phillips of Evansville, IN, the only surviving sibling of eleven brothers and sisters; also survived by many nieces and nephews.
